Solus Grief–With A Last Exhale

Grim dark, malevolent black metal from Solus Grief, the work of lone Norwegian artist Praefuro aka Peregrinus, whose works include collaborative projects alongside blistering sticksman Palisade, in Praefuro, Darkest Bethlehem, and Kvad – all of which will be familiar to regular and keen-eared followers of this channel.
Cutting hard into the noise the album begins with as granite-dense, imposing and intimidating a cold atmosphere as it means to continue with; which it does, unrelentingly though its duration of pitch black liquid rhythms, barely breaking its mid-paced chokehold of intensity all the way, offering just a few flourishes of levity to break, for dynamic effect and the illusion of hope among the darkness.
