6 years after the mighty "Hubris Unchained" which caught the underground by storm, and 3 years since the rehearsal track version promo release of the title track, Forlorn Spirit finally harnesses all energy and will into materializing "1000 Dreams of War". The tradition of old school Black Metal carried by the likes of Nécropole, Caverne, Pagan Hellfire etc remain very much ingrained in the nature worshipping desolation and bellicist, victorious spirit of this record, however its sound is even more crushing, thunderous and unyielding, for which the massive drum sound and brilliant performance of session drummer, Longinus, certainly contribute. The guitar sound however is also much colder and muscular, a brute force ravaging through the battlefield, and Forlorn Spirit's songwriting is clearly a step up with more diversity in melodies, flavour and elements, something certainly more striking on the massive 14-minute closing track.
