Lechuza (Woe Bather)-Dreams Beneath The Witch Tree MC
10,00 €
The debut of this Texan act, with nothing to do with the homonymous project from Atavistic Insurgence. Its structure is unmistakably harsh, although wrapped in atmospheric black metal as well, and even around this abrasive core the melody breathes and transforms occasionally into ambient passages with chirping birds and other times into blackgaze or even neofolk flourishes, often in the near end of each track as a brief escapade from the relentless storm, offering a fragile solace before the darkness reclaims again the foreground. Beneath this harsh exterior lies an unexpectedly vulnerable side seen through the lyrics, unfolding various fragmented confessions whispered between dreams and waking, exploring familiar depressive black metal thematics. Longing, spiritual exhaustion, loneliness, grief and an aching absence of purpose flow through every verse, but they are constantly intertwined with questions of ancestry and identity, while English and Spanish coexist. There is also a recurring symbolism of the moon, forgotten spirits, ancestral entities, sickness, ghosts and barren lands that seem to try to bridge the supernatural and reality that fits perfectly with María Izquierdo's art.
