Likno-Likno

9.00

Likno’s approach to black metal is far from straightforward, featuring significant fluctuations toward atmospheric soundscapes, but also, to a lesser extent, incorporating ambient textures that enhance its depth, as well as, acoustic guitar and flute passages enrich the musical palette with a unique character.
While the album does not shy away from experimentation, it maintains a balance with more traditional black metal concepts. Tracks like the fourth “Birth”, fifth “Sea”, and the closing one “White Wings” exhibit a more orthodox blackened sound, demonstrating the duo’s ability to a fierce and ravenous piece of black metal while still pushing some boundaries.
This debut is a profound exploration of the interplay between humans and nature, existential reflections, and the contrasts between life and death, modernity and timelessness. The lyrical content is rich with natural imagery and metaphors, depicting a journey through powerful, often harsh landscapes that mirror the internal experiences of the narrator.
