A Felled Forest-The Forest, your Grave
The second offering and the debut album of this US act.
Even if the approach did not change too much from the EP, still crafting a mid-tempo black metal, that is simultaneously moderately gritty but also harmonious. That is mostly due to the synth fills against the notable guitar / bass symbiotic performance, while the vocals showing a remarkable capability to keep track of that same melody despite the growl usage.
The tempo seems to have slowed down, just slightly, but despite the mauling percussion, the whole atmosphere has softened. As the atmosphere became more permeable, the songwriting also evolved, brimming with craftier details, often very harmonious and slightly melancholic.
A great follow-up record and also shows a noticeable growth.
